As important as Translator Training has become one of the areas of translation studies, thus its evaluation is as one of its basic parts. The special part which is of much interest for me is translation evaluation with pedagogical aims
There have been many attempts to give a comprehensive model to evaluate student’s performance including the distinction between binary versus non-binary errors, the differences between evaluating the translation performance of students from professional and pedagogical viewpoints, social implications of translation errors the idea of student-centered corrections of errors, etc.
An issue which has also been of much discussion is the need for the standardization of the diverse terminology which has plagued the issue for some time.
